My research is in the fields of forest, landscape, and urban ecology, ecosystem services, and sustainability science. With the LUQ-LTER I study community and landscape level vegetation patterns within the Luquillo Forest Dynamics Plot and secondary forest plots distributed around El Yunque National Forest. My work engages academic institutions, non-profit organizations, environmental management agencies, and citizen scientists in collecting ecological data that can inform biodiversity conservation, promote ecoliteracy, and advance sustainable resource stewardship.
